Location: Richards Bay, KZN, South Africa
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer for PLC, HMI, SCADA and Database development in the project environment for off and on-site software and system commissioning requirements.
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:
- National Diploma in Electronics/Electrical engineering fields or Trade tested Electrician or Instrumentation Mechanician with 5-7 years of experience
- Code 8 (B) or 10 (C1) Drivers License
- Own Transport will be advantageous
- Relevant management certificate will be advantageous
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:
- PLC software design and development of small to medium control systems with high attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and in a development team environment.
- Software testing and simulation.
- PLC Software Install and Commissioning on site.
- Advanced MS Excel capabilities.
- ABB VSD and DCS Experience.
- Rockwell VSD and PLC Experience.
- Schneider VSD Experience.
- Aveva Intouch (wonderware), InSQL, Topserver experience.
Overall Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper execution of software engineering within the agreed time limits
- Create user requirements for integration of new systems.
- Specify software requirements for quotations and tenders.
- Effectively use PLC and VSD test equipment.
- Troubleshooting PLC, VSD’s and current control loops.
- Read and Interpret drawings.
- Specification of project construction and time-based requirements.
- Always provide professional communication with the clients on site.
- Provide technical guidance to junior technicians, team members and construction teams.
- Understanding of OHS and MHS on site.
- Development of FAT and SAT documentation.
- On Site commissioning of software and hardware, where required.
- Emergency after hour support when required and agreed to.
