We are seeking an experienced Instrument Artisan for on-site automation, instrumentation and electrical projects.
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:
- Trade tested Instrumentation Mechanician
- Code 8 (B) or 10 (C1) Driver’s License
- 3-5 years’ experience in an Artisan role in the Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation Industry on Processing or Manufacturing Plants
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Basic computer literacy (Windows 10 or higher, MS Office, Excel, Word, Outlook etc).
- Sound understanding and interpretation of Electrical Schematics, Instrument Loop Drawings and P&ID drawings.
- Able to work well in high-pressure environments.
- High attention to detail.
- Knowledge of the relevant industry standards and SANS codes.
- Problem-solving and decisive decision-making abilities.
- Fit for work with no medical restrictions for site access.
- Compliance with safety and quality standards.
Overall Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper execution of tasks within the agreed time limits
- Ability to properly use test equipment.
- Troubleshooting PLC and Control systems.
- Install, configure and test PLC’s, instrumentation, and electrical equipment.
- Read and Interpret drawings.
- Specification of required instrumentation.
- Provide technical guidance to team members.
- Compile calibration certificates.
- Understanding of OHS and MHS on-site.
- Coordinate semi-skilled tasks on installation projects.
